As of 9:00 a.m. M. (Greenwich Mean Time) on December 1, 2020, this route is only for students applying for a permit to attend an English course between the ages of sixand for 11 months. For a degree of up to half a year, you can complete this underthe visitor path.

Can I apply for a residence permit as a short-term student?

You must have an immigration permit of this category before coming to the UK (entry permit). Canapply for an entry permitfrom any country outside the UK, but you must be legal resident of the country you are applying from.

• You must be at least 16 years old when you apply (at which point you pay the immigration application fee).

• You must be enrolled in an English course of a minimum of six months and a maximum of 11 months with an accredited provider. An accredited provider is someone who:
